PAR or Pre-Authorized Remittance is a direct debit program that allows people to support their church through an automatic monthly withdrawal from their bank account. The United Church administers the program following the giver’s wishes (e.g. X amount for local church expenses, and X amount for the Mission and Service Fund, if you wish to contribute to both). Approximately on the 20th of each month, all PAR givings are debited from the giver’s account and the total is electronically transferred to the local church account. Thank you for supporting St. David’s PAR program. To enroll in the PAR program, please pick up a brochure at back of the church or contact:

St. David’s United Columbarium
Due to the amount of rock here in Lake Echo, St. David’s was unable to have a graveyard on our property. Through the generosity of one of our original members, we were able to have our first columbarium erected in 2002. We have since added two more units, each holding eight niches, bringing the current total to 24 niches.
A Celebration of Life service, for members or adherents, would be held in the sanctuary or at the site, with a reception in our hall, if desired. We have a lovely garden with walkway leading up to the columbarium and a meditation bench for those who wish to come enjoy the peace and tranquility.
For more information on the columbarium, please feel free to contact the church.
Since 1953 the members of St. David’s United Church have had the pleasure of many incredible Students and Reverends. We thank each and every one for their time, commitment and community leadership.

HISTORY OF ST. DAVID'S CHURCH, LAKE ECHO
HISTORY OF ST. DAVID'S CHURCH, LAKE ECHO
In the early 1950's with Eric Fullerton (who was then a student at Pine Hill) and others, Rev. J.D.N. MacDonald organized construction of the original building on the property bought from Mr. Charles Fisher of Bell Street, Lake Echo. The Church opened in October 1953 and Sunday services were held regularly, often conducted by students or visiting Ordained Ministers.
Cole Harbour United was built to serve the growing population of east Dartmouth, and together with Calvin United Church in Lawrencetown, a long established Presbyterian congregation, these three Churches became one Pastoral Charge. One Minister served all three Churches until 1977.
At that time Rev. Bill Gillis lived in the Manse at Cole Harbour and travelled to Lake Echo and Lawrencetown, preaching three times each Sunday. Then Rev. Betty Griffiths came to help with the growing congregations and it was soon determined that Calvin and St. David's could stand as one Pastoral Charge, alone from Cole Harbour. Soon after, the Pastoral Charge amicably became two separate Charges.
We are rooted in the worship tradition of the United Church of Canada. We strive to be a community in which we may be nurtured in faith as we explore the relevance of scripture for our life as Christians.
We have been called to serve God as a community seeking equality, diversity and inclusivity. Revelation and our call to service is made known to us through our interaction and daily living with one another in the world.
We are committed to a definitive role as leaders in our surrounding communities as well in our community of faith. Our goal is to share the Word of God to the communities in which we worship, live and work on behalf of the Lord.
Committed to a Christ-like love for the earth and all humanity, we strive for a stewardship that cares for and sustains all creation.
